I'm determined to help my students develop a deep insight into what they are studying to help them enjoy what it is they are learning and not simply remember facts for an exam. Maths is about understanding and coming to conclusions independently. With a helping hand the students will be able to come to mathematical conclusions themselves and understand why the solutions to problems make sense intuitively, and during this process gain deep understanding, ensuring no surprises in the exam will be out of their grasp.
I love my chosen field for this very reason. Mathematics itself is embedded into the nature of this world and describes the way the real world works, in many ways not realised by younger students. My job here is to convey the beauty of mathematics to students, and help them fully realise and understand concepts rather than just memorise them.
