About Emma I

Primary School tutor

My current volunteer role as Assistant Leader at my local Girlguiding group allow me to spend time on a regular basis with children aged between 7 and 10 years old. I have experience in a wide variety of educational settings; from rural village to inner-city Primary schools. Positive working relationships are key to success and I will work with you and your child to help them achieve their very best, in whatever way suits them best!

To excel at teaching, I believe one must have a strong desire to understand how children learn and progress. Being in a classroom inspires me in many ways; I enjoy the responsibility of having an active role in improving and shaping a child’s future as well as helping pupils to discover new things about themselves and the world around them. The role of a teacher not only has a fundamental role of educating individuals but also in facilitating skill acquisition and confidence to ensure a successful life beyond the classroom.

A good teacher enables children to make the most of their primary school days, and not to find school monotonous, but as a stepping stone to their future selves. I love the idea of having responsibility for a group of children, seeing them grow throughout the year, whilst constantly supporting them in their development. I believe my experiences have provided me with the foundations to be a good teacher; I have demonstrated the commitment and enthusiasm required to undertake the next step to achieving my ambition to become a teacher.
