My strong academic background ensures I have the technical expertise to impart academic knowledge to students from different backgrounds and age ranges. Having tutored students ranging in age and ability, I feel attuned to the differences in each student and I am thus capable of adapting my communication and teaching skills to the specific needs of a student. My previous tutoring experiences has allowed me to work with the main exam boards and acclimatise myself to the differences in syllabi and the requirements of the recent GCSE grading system. It is important to communicate information to students in an effective and engaging manner and my previous experiences, such as lead mentor for the Pembroke College Afro-Caribbean Tyler prize, has greatly developed this skill
I am on my fourth year of the integrated masters biochemistry course (M.Biochem) at University of Oxford, New CollegeI have over 6 years experience as a private tutor and as a tutor in saturday school. I have taught over 30 students over the years.Through my role as a tutor at Saturday tutoring school, I taught various aspects of the 11+ exams (Maths, English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning). I have also spent more than five years tutoring students in GCSE Maths and Science. All the students I have taught successfully passed their exams or achieved beyond target set.
