About Joe j

Undergraduate Student at Imperial College London. Able to teach Maths, Biology and Chemistry to a high standard

Profile:
First year Medical Biosciences with Management student at Imperial College, London; interested in investment in life sciences and a career combining scientific knowledge and analytical skills with business acumen. Main areas of interest: neuroscience, pharmacology, cancer biology and the data behind medical research. Completed laboratory research this year investigating how stress hormones affect the rate of metastasis of breast cancer. This project was fascinating and provided a steep learning curve to enact all the laboratory procedures carefully and accurately. Keen to build on experience this year and apply some of the knowledge gained in a workplace environment. Next year I have chosen to specialise in neuroscience with pharmacology, cancer biology and genetics. My laboratory module will entail using CRSPR, a novel gene editing tool, to test hypotheses in a team.

Key Strengths: confident communication and teamwork skills, determination, healthy competitiveness, sociable, friendly and approachable.
