I am an ESL teacher who has spent the past couple of years teaching English as a foreign language in Spain and South Korea. I have taught students of all ages and levels. After gaining experience and confidence in my teaching abilities, I am looking to further my understanding by teaching English online while I undergo a postgraduate degree.

My teaching career began following successful completion of a TEFL course I took in which I gained useful knowledge which has been strengthened enormously by my subsequent experience as an ESL teacher at ‘Talk Center Salamanca’ (where I taught students from all ages, back- grounds and levels).

In my lessons, my two main aims were to improve my students’ comprehension and confidence in speaking. I understand that my students approach English in different ways so I tailored my lessons to suit their needs and I have achieved excellent results. Not only am I able to coach my students so that they are able to achieve qualifications but also to reach a level of English that they can apply to their careers and lifestyles.

After leaving Spain, I became an ESL teacher at ‘Sungbuk SLP’ in Seoul. This functions as both a kindergarten where children are taught and cared for entirely in English and as an ESL academy for older children. My experience here taught me to use an entirely approach to teaching children. The main emphasis on my lessons was fun. Children are not motivated by explanations of grammar but by interesting and creative classes where they may laugh and express themselves freely.

I hold a particular passion for the English language with all of its eccentricities and nuances. My aim is to inspire my students to share in my enthusiasm. And so it is with great satisfaction that I am able to communicate this joy for the language; a quality that I believe makes me very approachable as a teacher. Furthermore, I am able to a build brilliant rapport with my students. In this way, I am able to transform those who are reluctant to learn into keen learners.
